Midland History & Team Record
At the start of 2005 Russian industrialist Alex Shnaider, after failing in a bid for Jaguar, negotiated to buy Jordan Grand Prix for around $60M thus avoiding the $48M bond required by any new team joining F1. For the 2005 season the team used the Jordan name and although the car was almost bullet-proof in its reliability, it was completely outclassed. In September 2006 Shnaider sold the team to Dutch sportscar manufacturer Spyker Cars NV and competed in the final three GP of the season as Spyker MF1 Racing.
