Son of the late Manfred Winkelhock, the young German got his break into F1 when he replaced Christijan Albers in the 2007 European GP at Nurburgring - the site of his fathers last F1 appearance. In a chaotic race, he gained the distinction of starting last (original start) and first (restart after red flag) in his debut race.
