Tesla
One of the Sacramento, CA area's most successful musical products, the hard rock band was formerly known as City Kidd (1984-1986). They are famous enough to be on Wikipedia.
Originally active 1984 to 1996, they reformed in 2000.

Former City Kidd Members
Colleen Lloy and Brook Bright formed City Kidd in early 1981 after the launch of the "KZAP Hometown II" album where Lloy's had a solo song on the album. Manager Steve Clausman brought in Frank Hannon and Brian Wheat after their band, Earthshaker, played at his club, Gopher's Gulch. He then held auditions for a vocalist and found Jeff Keith. Keith and Colleen Lloy were the lead singers of this band during this time.
